Things have been pretty quiet around here lately. Not because there is not much going on, but because there is so much going on.
As a bookkeeper, year end is an extremely busy time. I work a part time bookkeeping job, as well as looking after the accounts for one other company every quarter. Just to get them ready for his accountant.
But as well as the end of financial year chaos that is happening right now, I have also been very busy behind the scenes completing the online certification to become an Evernote Community Leader.
And let me tell you, I am so excited.

I have really fond memories as a kid, of sorting socks with my mum. After all the washing was done, the clothes would be folded and given to their owner to be put away, but all the socks went into a sock basket. Not matched, just tossed in. Sometimes they were matched before we got low on socks, and I remember mum and I would chat as we sorted and folded. Other times we would be getting low on socks, or more likely we had already run out, and we would scrounge around in the sock basket looking for two that match. Or, just two that fit!!
What’s even funnier than that is, when I mentioned socks and the need for a sock basket to my little sister, who is 17 years my junior, she said “A what basket.”
I have been using Evernote for a few years now. Four years to be exact. Mostly, I used it for keeping track of my Master To Do List. Occasionally I would see something on a website and store it there to read later. A list of books to read, recipes to try, TV shows to watch, podcasts to listen to, products to look at. You get the idea.
And whilst I have always loved the idea of having a portable organisation system with me, I really wasn’t putting it to good use.
But back in January, I posted about my Life Goals Vs New Years Resolutions and in this post I talked about how I wasn’t going to make resolutions, I was going to concentrate on some goals that I have set for myself.
One of these goals was to move towards digitising my life. I mean really digitising. My vision is to have next to no paperwork in the house. To be able to access everything on the fly. To be able to pull up the information that I need at the drop of a hat. And let me tell you, I am already on my way.
But today I really wanted to share with you my top 10 reasons why I am organising my life with Evernote and why I am in love with this program.
Well here it is. My last instalment of the Back To School Series. And it is all about how I organise school work.
This little system of ours has been working famously for about 3 years now, and I would love to show you what we have done.
It has been so much fun sharing how both Hailey and I organise everything school related, but all good things must come to an end, so enjoy this last instalment on for our Back to School Series.

Well, as my holiday is drawing to a close, my thoughts are slowly moving back to reality. And while I am glad that I have put quite a few things in place for the coming year, there is still lots to be done as far as dealing wiht school clutter and back to school organisation goes.
Having a high school student definitely has its benefits. He is old enough to unpack his school bag, he knows where his school notes go, and if I can get him to put down his phone long enough, he gets through what little homework he has in a reasonable amount of time.

My vegetable preparation is saving me time and money! As a highly unmotivated housewife, anything that saves me time is a must. But to be saving money also, is a huge added bonus.

Preparing meals for the family can be a daunting task. They just want to be fed every. Single. Day! What is it with that? I mean, would it really matter if we skipped a meal here or there? I know I could certainly do with a few less calories per week! Unfortunately, my family doesn’t agree. As you have probably guessed by now, I am a shortcut kind of gal. If there is an easier way to do something, I am going to try and find it. And when it comes to meal preparation, I think I have found a couple of techniques that are extremely helpful. Especially when you are trying to get meals on the table every night.
